Summer Vacation in the USA

I love to spend my summer vacations traveling throughout the U.S. visiting historical sites. A part
icular favorite is Gettysburg, PA. I find the atmosphere of the town to be simply amazing, the buildings give a feel of 1860's America. To see the train station where Lincoln arrived in town, buildings which still have damage from the battle, and the battlefield....I am awestruck during every visit. I also enjoy visiting Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, Richmond and Fredericksburg VA. The other added benefit is that it gives the kids a leg up during their social studies classes in school, as they can visualize these places, while most of their classmates only have the textbook to rely on. I'm happy that my children have picked up my love of history, and enjoy spending the summer going to these different places in the U.S.A. We plan on visiting Civil War sites this summer in Tennessee and Alabama. The one thing that the kids insist on is a hotel with a pool! If they are willing to explore the country with me, that's the least I can do!
Judge Dred will keep a watchful eye on all events, whether they are local, national or world. The Judge's gavel will be heard at the appropriate time.

Short and sweet article...keep it up Sir...
Hi Chiradeep,
Thanks for reading and commenting. I could have kept writing, but we must plan our trip!

My granddaughter would cheer for the pool and hotel right along with your kids. They too have visited Gettysburg several times. It is a fine place to visit and explore. At one time I lived in Damascus, Maryland and we often traveled, through Baltimore and up to Connecticut. So it is directly on the way and rich in history. I always loved the big stone houses that have the gun sites windows.
