Cleveland - Get A Grip !

People of Cleveland, are you kidding?
What in the world are you thinking?
LeBron James has decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to play for the Miami Heat. The reaction of the citizens of Cleveland? Burning James' jersey and riots in the streets. This just in. The world did not come to an end on Thursday, July 8, 2010. Burning jerseys? Riots? I understand disappointment, but this is taking things to another level.
At the end of the day, it's still basketball, a game some of us played as children, and some still play today as adults. For FREE. Some even pay to play. Wake up, citizens of Cleveland. Circle the day on your calendar when Miami visits Cleveland during the 2010 - 2011 NBA season. Boo, jeer, scream obscenities at James if that is what you wish to do. You will still help the LeBron James machine to keep rolling.
Is it your that your Cavs are going to be absolutely terrible this year? Yes, they will be bad. Or should I say BAD. Well, maybe I would upset too. Let's face facts - Cleveland was not going to win with Lebron anyway, so he made the right choice for himself. He left town.Oh well, the Lakers are going to win next year, so no one in Miami or Cleveland will be happy.
At least you have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Until next time.

Top-level comments on this article: (2 total)I think most basketball fans have already penciled in the Lakers and Heat for next year's finals. That might be a mistake. It might be that neither team will make it. Cleveland is now my second favorite team (to the Memphis Grizzlies).
Hi Terry,I think the Lakers will definitely be in the finals next year. The Heat.....they are missing 2 major components - a point guard and a legitimate center. Assuming Boston's starting five come back, it will be tough for the Heat to get by the Celtics. Dan Gilbert has doomed the Cavs to mediocrity for the immediate future. He should have zipped his lip and moved on. Thanks for reading and commenting.JD
